Bohs support Haven in Haiti E-mail

Bohemian FC has adopted Haven Partnership as a chosen charity.

Haven was established by businessman Leslie Buckley to provide relief to people in one of the poorest countries of the world, Haiti, through building and refurbishment of houses. Haven has organised several construction campaigns by teams of volunteers from Ireland.

Following the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti a fund-raising event in Dalymount Park raised €2050 for Haven’s emergency appeal. In a message to people at the event, Haven founder Leslie Buckley said the charity was building sanitation facilities at some of the near-300 makeshift camps that have sprung up around the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.

Mr Buckley has promised Haitian president René Preval that Haven will build up to 10,000 houses for the Haitian people during the reconstruction phase The Haven founder thanked Bohemians for supporting their efforts, and said that "the support of people like yourselves and the great guys at Bohs FC keeps us going during this very dark time for Haiti".
