Bohs won their second league title in a row following a 5-0 win over Navan Cosmos on Wednesday night, September 1. Match report by Shaun Kidd The game was played in the superb Meath District League grounds and on a very good surface. Bohs got off to the best possible start in the very first minute, when Rachel McLoughlin played a pass to Kerrie Deegan who got down the line an put in a super cross which Sinead O'Kelly headed home at the back post.Bohs had a couple more chances to score but had to wait until the 25th minute for goal number two. Cheryl Cooney found Stacey Nesbitt who passed through for Kerrie Deegan to run into the penalty area and beat the keeper from eight yards. Just before half-time, Bohs were unlucky not to go three in front after Stacey Nesbitt struck the post with the keeper beaten. In the second half, Bohs had their third after an hour. Following a Navan goal-kick, Rachel McLoughlin headed the ball over two Navan defenders and Sinead O'Kelly sprinted between both of them and shot across the keeper into the far corner. Keriie Deegan came close on a couple of occasions before the fourth goal arrived. From an Amy O'Connor corner, Navan failed to clear and Amie Sinclair controlled the ball before sending it over the keeper into the corner. Sinclair nearly scored five minutes later with a volley from an acute angle, but the home keeper made a good save. Bohs made four changes in the second half and two those introduced came very close to scoring. First up was Elaine Doyle who, after another O'Connor corner-kick, volleyed towards goal only for the Navan keeper to dive back and claw the ball away from the goal. Moments later, Carol Doyle struck a great shot six yards out but again the keeper pulled off another super save. Number five arrived with eight minutes to go. Amy O'Connor won the ball in centre midfield and passed to Stacey Nesbitt who, 25 yards from goal, shot low into the left corner, with the Navan keeper this time well beaten. At the end, Bohs began to celebrate their second league success in two seasons. Team: Hanna, O'Brien. Cooney, Carpenter, Martin, Deegan, Nesbitt, O'Connor, Sinclair, McLoughlin, O'Kelly.
