@bfcdubin The students of that bastion of learning that we call University College Dublin, received a lesson in life that I hope hasn’t gone unnoticed. Once again a certain Owen Heary has given evidence in the trial of life to show without fear of contradiction that he has succeeded where others similarly blessed with his ability have long since given up. It just makes the world seem like a better place when nice people demonstrate that you can win. Here’s to a true professional. I walked into a small Internet café early Saturday morning with a degree of fear, as is the norm when I go to get the score not having witnessed the game live. There it is, by all accounts a thoroughly deserved two nil away win. Life in harmony. Three wins from six played, a goal difference of plus four, joint second in the league and a striker who has scored in every game that we have scored in. Always important to have a confident striker, and I’m sure Anto can’t be lacking in that department after the start he’s made to his Bohs career. You could say the fixture list has been kind to us if you look at the teams we’ve played. All are outside the top four and the next three games are against teams inside the top four. But if you look at the betting before the start you’ll see we’ve already played two of the teams that were in the top four in the market. To which we’ve remained unbeaten and not conceded a goal. So the next three games will be tough. But let’s not forget that the opposition will be thinking the same thing. They’ll be as worried about us as we are about them. One thing I’d like to say before I forget. The one thing I’m looking forward to seeing this year as much as anything else is the sight of Glenn Cronin running on to the pitch in a Bohs jersey. If anybody does it justice it’s Glenn. Always strong always committed always 100%. Let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later. |
