Report: Monaghan Utd 0 Bohemians Women 4 E-mail

@bfcdublin Bohs Women's team travelled to Gortakeegan to face Monaghan Utd in the WFAI Intermediate Cup on a sweltering Sunday afternoon and came away with a victory.

Bohs were in front after four minutes when good work down the right flank resulted in Nesbitt putting in a good cross, which O'Kelly got in front of the keeper to touch the ball home.

Three minutes later and it was 2-0. Moffatt beat the right-back and with the keeper rushing from her line, pulled the ball back for O'Kelly to tap in her second from six yards.

Bohs went close before the end of the half through McLoughlin, shooting into the side-netting and Nesbitt going close from a free-kick.

Bohs began the second half just the same as the first and, on 47 minutes, the third goal came. Following great play on the left wing, Moffatt passed to Creighton, who put a pin-point cross just inside the penalty area where McLoughlin scored with a header placed inside the far post. The pitch was in fantastic condition and Bohs were able to play their fluid passing game.

The away side made some more good chances but couldn't convert any of them until the 75 minute when Deegan shot from an accute angle wide in the box, but managed to find the top right-hand corner.

The away side had the chance to make it five as they hit the crossbar through McLoughlin as the match ended in a well-deserved win.

Bohs should know their opponents in the next round later this week.BOHEMIANS: Hanna, Martin, Cryan, Carpenter, Creighton, Deegan, Nesbitt, Hurley, Moffatt, McLoughlin, O'Kelly.
