Crumlin Utd 0 Bohemians Under-14s 3 E-mail

@bfcdublin An excellent performance away from home, inspired by captain Eoghan Morgan, saw our Under-14 Premier side brush aside their Crumlin United opponents to advance through to the semi-finals of the Thunder Cup.

Bohemians settled into the game early and created a number of chances in the first half that could have put the tie to bed by the break.

Morgan picked out Adrian Pastuszka on two occasions with exceptional diagonal passes but the Crumlin keeper was on hand to prevent Bohemians making the breakthrough they deserved.

Another chance fell to Sam Burgess after he came in from the wing to pick up the ball after a good passing move through midfield, but Burgess' shot went just the wrong side of the post after he showed some impressive skill in the box to adjust his feet to get the shot off.

A fine defensive display from centre-back Nathan Lawlor was beginning to frustrate the home side and leave Crumlin's chances limited to a few free-kicks but each time keeper Evan Comerford diverted the danger with his well-organised instructions and his excellent reactions.

Bohs finally broke the deadlock when striker Jordan Wright made the most of a half chance to deflect his shot in off a Crumlin defender.

Wright was soon to add his and Bohemians' second when he lobbed the Crumlin keeper from the edge of the box. It was Bohs' skipper who had the last say and finished the tie off with an outstanding overhead kick into the top corner of the Crumlin goal to secure the win and see his side through to the semi-finals.
