@bfcdublin Our Under-12s were back in action for the first time since a 5-0 away win to Castleknock on December 2nd. Playing with a severe wind in the first half, Bohemians were kept at bay by an excellent display by the Wayside goalkeeper but eventually went 1-0 up with a very cool finish from the spot by David Lyons. Wayside were limited to long-range chances due to a good all-round defensive display by Anthony Vavasour, Sean Smith, David Lyons, Darryl Dunne and Andrew McDermott with Sam Hegney enforcing things and breaking up the game in his defensive central midfield position. Bohemians went in to the half-time break 1-0 up and, following a couple of changes, started the second half into the wind very strongly. Through excellent use of passing and combinations, there were at least three clear chances to score in the first ten minutes of the second half, with Sam Hegney playing a bigger part in breaking up play and playing some intelligent passes for Ryan Horan, Dillon McCann, James Clarke and the excellent Josh Keegan to have a shot on goal. Wayside pulled a goal back with a wind-assisted counterattack but it was Bohemians who were the most creative of the two teams overall. Through another patient build-up, David Lyons was hauled down on the edge of the box and it was Adam Sheridan, for the third time this season, to score an excellent free-kick from the edge of the box. Bohemians were under a little pressure during the closing minutes of this game but closed things out comfortably with a number of clear chances to extend the lead in the last 10 minutes. Sam Hegney was the well deserved recipient of the man-of-the-match award today with another special mention to three Under-11 players, James Clarke, Josh Keegan and Adam Lawlor for stepping up due to injury and suspension and for playing a big part in the 2-1 win. Thanks to Wayside FC managers and players for being such good hosts and very sporting regardless of the result. Squad: Dylan Foster, Adam Sheridanmoore , Dillon McCann, David Lyons (Captain), Sam Hegney, Darryl Dunne (Vice Captain), Anthony Vavasour, Ryan Horan, Andrew McDermott, James Clarke, Adam Lawlor, Sean Smith, Josh Keegan.
